Working at Height Awareness - Retail

Falls from a height remain one of the biggest causes of workplace fatalities and major injuries in the UK. The Health and Safety (HSE) found that 25% of workplace fatalities were due to a fall from a height between 2014 and 2019 This course will help you manage the risk, specifically for retail operators.


Working at height does not necessarily mean you are working above ground level; it can be identified as a place of work where a person could be injured from falling if suitable measures and protection are not in place. This course explores the different risks and appropriate actions to take when working at height.


This course is recommended for any team member required to undertake tasks from a height, including the use of ladders and step ladders.

You will be able to...

  • Identify the risks of working at heights.
  • Protect yourself and others against the risk of injuries from working at height.
  • Correctly and safely use the most appropriate equipment to complete tasks.
  • Understand how to anticipate the risks of fall hazards in your workplace and understand responsibilities

Valid:  Up to 1 year after purchase.

Duration: 20 minutes 

Assessment: There are several check your knowledge points throughout the course. The final part of the activity is an end of learning assessment consisting of 5 multiple-choice questions. Learners must achieve 80% to pass.
