Fire Safety Awareness in Retail
Fire safety is imperative to protect customers, team members and visitors in the retail sector. Many retail businesses have been impacted by fires and it is important to recognise risk and reduce the risk to your operation.
Fires in retail are mainly caused by; lightning (9%), electrical distribution (28%) and smoking related (17%).
The Fire Safety Awareness Course in Retail aims to provide learners with underpinning knowledge of fire safety procedure in the workplace. Suitable for all levels and roles within a retail operation, this course will help all team members understand the importance of fire safety awareness.
Upon completion of the course, learners will have an in-depth understanding of the common causes of slips, trips and falls and how to prevent them, as well as understand what to do should they injure themselves at work.

- Understand the legal requirement placed on businesses to take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of fire and to ensure people can safely escape if there is a fire.
- Demonstrate the main rules of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Assessment: There are several check your knowledge points throughout the course. The final part of the activity is an end of learning assessment consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions. Learners must achieve 70% to pass.
