In our Hacks series we grill our featured hospitality pros for their top time and sanity saving tips and advice for working in a hospitality environment. First up, some pro hacks for working on the floor of a busy restaurant.
Working in a busy bar, kitchen or restaurant floor gives you some serious practical skills and working under pressure on the regular means you can’t help but pick up some time and energy saving tips to keep you on top of things.
And because sharing is caring, we asked our featured hospitality pros from our Aspire Meets series to share some of their top hacks.
First up, we have Elena Bradley from Manchester’s Hawksmoor restaurant who has some great advice for keeping organised, hydrated, and also enhancing the guest experience.
When guests come to your restaurant, they’re expecting more than a great meal, and as a server you are the key factor in delivering the guest experience. Identifying the guest’s needs before they have to ask – from topping up water glasses, bringing extra napkins and cutlery and promptly offering drink refills, it’s often the little things that greatly improve the guest’s overall experience. And to elevate that experience, the server has to know how to go the extra mile to really dazzle their guest. “We do things called ‘hospitality bombs’ here,” Elena explains, “where we’ll do something really particular and personalised and nice for a table that will make their experience”.
Find out Elena’s top restaurant hacks, including her top tip for delivering an effective “hospo bomb” in the video.
