As operators plan for reopening, it is crucial that the feelings of team members in all roles are considered. As well as still being unclear about the timeline in terms of reopening businesses to welcome guests, many hospitality workers have been disproportionately affected by the Government’s decision to not include tronc payments in furlough calculations. Around 30,000 people signed a petition to have service charge accounted for in salary for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. You’ll have a chance to answer questions about how you feel about government support and this feedback will help form the narrative used by lobbying groups who are trying tirelessly to gain the Government’s support in reopening safely and sensibly.
